As a wedding photographer in Jacksonville, I have a unique birds-eye view of your wedding day. I am a quiet observer of the people and relationships that surround the bride and groom on one of their most important days. It’s in this role that I’ve realized a few important things about your bridal party. They’re your support group, your A-team, your wedding day front line. I’m starting to believe they have more influence on how your day goes more than anyone else.
A Word of Advice from your Wedding Photographer on Choosing Your Bridal Party
It is always my wish that on their big day, the bride and groom have chosen to surround themselves with the right people. People who will be willing to do the things necessary to make sure the day is successful, that the bride and groom walk away with happy memories. Because I have realized more than ever that these are the people who can make or break a wedding. They’re going to be the people to help smooth over the rumples. They are the people who set the tone for the dance floor. The people who are looking out for your grandma and grandpa. Your bridesmaids and groomsmen are the ones who help you deal with the emotions, the hiccups, and the joys that weddings can bring. Your bridal party will be the first people to show up and the last people to leave.
Some humble advice from your wedding photographer on choosing your bridal party: Surround yourself with people who have your best interest at heart. People who will not only stand beside you on your wedding day, but all the days after. Choose people who will push you towards your spouse & who will support your new role in life. Choose people that have laughed with you and cried with you. The ones who have shared your history and proven themselves to be there. Choose your siblings, your childhood best friends, break tradition and choose your grandma or grandpa! Choose the people you can’t imagine your life without.
